Devon Cool Campers Rental Information

Hire Charges Include

• Unlimited miles in the West Country (Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset.)  Please ask us if you want to take the van further afield, and we will try to accommodate you.
• UK standard vehicle insurance
• UK standard equipment & breakdown cover

Security Deposit

There is a refundable GB£500.00 Security Deposit payable by cash, bank transfer or cheque, which must have cleared before departure. This is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date and time, in the same condition as it was let out to you, with the interior clean, including all cooking appliances, equipment and the tank full of fuel.

Extras

• Bike rack (for 2 bikes): £10
• Airbed, double: £10
• Airbed, single: £5
• Drive away awning: £20
• Additional driver insurance cover: £5 per day
• Collection from Tiverton Parkway Station: £10 per trip

Drivers

• Age limits: 25 to 70 years included in standard insurance, any more than  minor point convictions or 1 accident in the past 3 years may incur extra cost or refusal of insurance.
• Driver must have held a valid British licence for more than three years.
• Details of additional drivers required.
• Production of valid standard driver's licence required from all drivers at start of hire.
• Drivers are personally liable for all legal penalties (e.g. parking tickets etc) which are incurred during the period of hire.
• Maximum of 3 drivers per rental
• Drivers must provide a separate form of identification to confirm address e.g. utilities bill less than 3 months old.
• Private vehicles left with Devon Cool Campers are done so at the risk of the vehicle owner.

 

 

Insurance

Standard Excess: the above rate includes a standard excess of GB£500. In the event of any damage to either the vehicle or thirdparty property, the hirer will be liable for the first GB£500. The hirer will also be fully liable for replacement or repair of windscreen or tyre damage.

Smoking

We have a no smoking policy in all our vehicles. Any damage caused by smoking will be paid for by the customer as will any extra valeting costs incurred by Devon Cool Campers as a result of smoking in the vehicle.

Payment

Availability is on a request and confirm basis at the time of reservation. A reservation is only binding after it has been confirmed by Devon Cool Campers and a non-refundable deposit has been received. Settlement of the remaining balance will be due four weeks prior to departure.
Payment is by cash, electronic transfer or cheque in Pounds Sterling.
For late bookings (less than four weeks before departure), the full rental price is payable on booking. Vehicles will not be released without full payment being completed. Cheques will not be acceptable for late bookings (less than 2 weeks prior to departure).

Cancellation Charges

More than 4 weeks before rental start date: Booking Deposit (£100)
Within 4 weeks of rental start date: 100% of total rental charge is payable

Holiday Insurance

Please ensure you have your own holiday insurance in place to cover the costs if for any reason you have to cancel your reservation.

 

 

 

Collection and Return

Collection:

From 3pm. Please allow 30 minutes  for the hand-over on collection to complete paperwork, to demonstrate the use of the van (they take a bit of getting used to, that is all part of their charm!) Please allow the same on your return.

Return:

By 11am. The vehicle must be returned on the date, and at or before the time stated on the rental agreement. Vehicles must be returned clean and in the same condition as they leave, otherwise a charge will be made.
Late return:
If you will be late returning, the rental company must be advised immediately. Failure to advise may result in prosecution for driving whilst uninsured. An additional charge of £50 per hour will be payable for all late returns.
